Anya had answered all of the questions right in her interview, but since Marie was not seeing anymore girls, Sophie arranged a meeting at the Russian Ballet. Until the performance, she was going to take everyone out shopping in Paris! While they were seeing the sights, Dimitri thought about how he loved Anya, but couldn't be with her once she was royalty again.

Before the ballet finally begins, Dimitri tells Vlad that Anya really is Anastasia, but that he won't tell her anything about their original plan. When Anya comes up behind him, he notes how beautiful she looks. During the show, Anya tears up her program into tiny pieces, so Dimitri takes her hand and tells her it will be fine.

When the ballet is over, the two walk to Marie's private box. Dimitri and Anya try to talk, but they can't seem to say anything they want to, so Dimitri wishes Anya luck and goes in to announce her. Marie says that she doesn't want to see any more Anastasias, but Dimitri is persistant, telling her that this time, it really is Anastasia. Marie then recognises who Dimitri is ~ a con man training an Anastasia look-alike, and throws him out. When Dimitri looks up, he sees Anya, who has been listening to the whole thing at the door. Dimitri had lied to her all along! He tries to tell her the truth, but she doesn't want to hear it. She slaps him, and runs the other way, leaving Dimitri behind alone in the crowd.
