Anastasia on Ice!
Be Warned: This is a Katie Babbiling ATTACK!!! So... you've been warned ;)

My friend Lauren and I went to see Anastasia on Ice, and I thought that it was so nifty, I'd devote a section of my page to it! So here's what I thought about it:

It is absolutely awesome, under one condition: Bring Money!!! It's very expensive ~ Lauren and I both bought a program, a Pooka beanie, (Popcorn?), and then we didn't have enough money between us to get a Sno-Cone ;X

We had the BEST seats! Let me see if I can explain this... The ice rink at the Civic Arena had been made into a smaller rectangle, so there was about six feet of ice all around the rectangle that wasn't being used for skating on. So, they covered that part of the ice with foam mats, and we sat in the second row on the mats! (Trust me, it was close!) The closeness was very exciting, but you could see pointless little things like:

Anyhow, other than those nitpicks, it was the most awesome thing! They stuck as close to the actual movie as you could, considering that it was on ice. It started out with "Rumor in St. Petersburg," with the lyrics changed to explain what was happening without having seen the whole 300 year ball deal the movie starts with (which they made into the flashback during "Once Upon a December").

Some other things? They used a real little dog for Pooka, with a thing on his head that gave him long ears. And, believe it or not, they found a guy who was cute enough to play Dimitri! (Who was about 5 feet from us! Hehe... ;) This is for you, Lauren! ;D )

I think it was just exciting to be able to see Anastasia with real people... I always did figure that if Anastasia had been live action, it would have done better in theaters (It should have done better as it was, though! ;) ), and plus, it was on ice. Being that I'm a total figure skating fan, that make it all the better!

Oh, and the Program I bought was excellent! It has color pictures, little descriptions, and lotsa other neat stuff, plus it came with a fake rose... (But it was $10! No wonder we didn't have money for a Sno-Cone!) Anyhow, I scanned the Huge "At the Beginning" picture, which had been two full pages of simply that picture (! I had to scan it it three parts, and I have a big flatbed scanner!), printed it, and stuck it on my wall. But then I figured "Hey, since I have it, I'll put it on my page!" So click here to see it!

Wow... that's enough of that! ;D Soooo...
